By admin · October 2, 2026 · 26 min read

The cast of My Hero Academia is built around aspiring heroes, experienced Pro Heroes, dangerous villains, teachers, families, and organizations with competing ideas about what hero society should be. At the center is Izuku Midoriya, a formerly Quirkless student who inherits One For All and begins training at U.A. High School to become a professional hero.

Created by Kohei Horikoshi, the series gives its characters distinctive Quirks, personalities, costumes, motivations, and relationships. Some characters rely on overwhelming physical power, while others succeed through strategy, teamwork, mobility, support abilities, or specialized combat techniques.

This guide covers 40 notable MHA characters, including important Class 1-A students, U.A. teachers, Pro Heroes, members of the League of Villains, and other characters who play meaningful roles in the story. Because My Hero Academia develops significantly over time, some descriptions contain general story information while avoiding unnecessary major spoilers.

Main MHA Characters

MHA Characters

1. Izuku Midoriya

Izuku Midoriya, commonly called Deku, is the central protagonist of My Hero Academia. He begins the story without a Quirk despite desperately wanting to become a hero. Rather than abandoning that dream, Midoriya studies professional heroes obsessively, filling notebooks with observations about their abilities, techniques, strengths, and weaknesses.

His life changes after meeting All Might, the hero he admires most. Recognizing Midoriya’s instinctive willingness to help others, All Might chooses him to inherit One For All, a transferable Quirk accumulated and strengthened through generations of users.

Midoriya initially struggles to control its enormous physical power. Using too much can seriously damage his own body, forcing him to develop better control and alternative fighting methods instead of simply copying All Might.

Intelligent, analytical, empathetic, and self-sacrificing, Deku frequently tries to understand both allies and opponents. His relationships with Katsuki Bakugo, All Might, Ochaco Uraraka, and his classmates form major parts of his development.

As the story progresses, learning what One For All truly represents becomes just as important as mastering its power.

2. Katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki Bakugo is Midoriya’s childhood acquaintance, classmate, rival, and one of the most talented students in Class 1-A.

His Explosion Quirk allows him to produce nitroglycerin-like sweat from his palms and ignite it, creating powerful explosions. Bakugo applies the ability creatively for offense, defense, rapid movement, aerial maneuvering, and concentrated attacks.

Although his aggressive personality can make him appear reckless, Bakugo possesses exceptional combat awareness. He quickly analyzes opponents, reacts to changing conditions, and understands how to use his surroundings.

His relationship with Midoriya is especially important. Bakugo grew up believing that natural talent and victory defined strength, while Midoriya’s willingness to risk himself for others challenges that worldview.

Over time, Bakugo’s experiences force him to reconsider what being a hero actually requires. His development is not about losing his competitive nature; instead, he gradually learns to combine ambition and combat talent with cooperation, responsibility, and a better understanding of other people.

3. Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki is one of U.A.’s strongest students and the son of Pro Hero Endeavor.

His Half-Cold Half-Hot Quirk gives him two contrasting elemental abilities. He can generate ice from the right side of his body and flames from the left. The combination gives him enormous offensive power, defensive options, battlefield control, and a way to counterbalance the physical effects of excessive heat or cold.

Todoroki’s family history heavily influences his personality. Endeavor arranged his family around the ambition of producing a child capable of surpassing All Might, leaving Shoto with deep resentment toward his father and initially causing him to reject the fire side of his Quirk.

His interactions with Midoriya become an important turning point. Todoroki begins separating his own identity from his father’s ambitions and recognizing that his fire is ultimately his power to use.

Quiet and serious, Todoroki can sometimes misunderstand ordinary social situations. Beneath his reserved personality, however, he cares strongly about his classmates and family.

4. Ochaco Uraraka

Ochaco Uraraka is one of Midoriya’s closest classmates and a central member of Class 1-A.

Her Zero Gravity Quirk allows her to remove the gravitational effect on objects she touches with all five fingertips. She can make heavy objects float, manipulate debris, assist in rescue operations, and use her surroundings creatively during combat.

Uraraka originally wants to become a Pro Hero partly because she hopes to provide financial stability for her parents. This practical motivation gradually expands as she witnesses the emotional and physical burdens carried by heroes.

She is cheerful, compassionate, determined, and highly supportive of others. At the same time, Uraraka takes her training seriously and develops close-combat skills to complement a Quirk that initially appears more suited to rescue than direct fighting.

Her connection with Midoriya is important throughout the series, but Uraraka also develops an increasingly independent understanding of heroism. One of the questions associated with her character is simple but significant: who helps heroes when the heroes themselves are suffering?

5. Tenya Ida

Tenya Ida serves as the class representative of Class 1-A and comes from a respected family of professional heroes.

His Engine Quirk gives him engine-like organs in his calves that provide tremendous running speed. Different techniques allow him to increase his acceleration and use that momentum in powerful kicks.

Ida is formal, disciplined, rule-conscious, and sometimes unintentionally comedic because of his rigid mannerisms. Despite this, his concern for rules comes from a sincere belief that heroes should act responsibly.

His older brother, Tensei Ida, is the Pro Hero Ingenium and has a major influence on Tenya’s aspirations. Events involving his family test Ida’s principles and demonstrate how easily personal anger can conflict with the responsibilities expected of a hero.

Within Class 1-A, Ida frequently provides organization and leadership. He is also a close friend of Midoriya and Uraraka.

Class 1-A Characters

6. Tsuyu Asui

Tsuyu Asui, usually called Tsu by her friends, has the Frog Quirk, which gives her abilities associated with frogs. These include powerful jumping, wall-clinging, an extendable tongue, strong swimming ability, and other amphibian traits.

Tsuyu is straightforward and unusually calm under pressure. She often says exactly what she thinks rather than softening her opinions, but her honesty generally comes from concern rather than cruelty.

Her versatility makes her useful in rescue missions, aquatic environments, reconnaissance, and combat. She is also dependable during emergencies, making her one of Class 1-A’s most reliable team members.

7. Eijiro Kirishima

Eijiro Kirishima is known for his outgoing personality, loyalty, and determination to become someone others can depend on.

His Hardening Quirk allows him to harden his body, increasing both his defensive durability and striking power. With training, he develops increasingly durable forms capable of enduring powerful attacks.

Kirishima admires courage and frequently describes admirable behavior as “manly,” although his concept of manliness is more closely connected to bravery and integrity than gender.

His friendship with Bakugo is particularly notable because Kirishima is one of the classmates capable of interacting with him naturally. Kirishima’s own insecurities and determination to overcome fear also give his seemingly simple personality considerable depth.

8. Momo Yaoyorozu

Momo Yaoyorozu is one of Class 1-A’s most academically gifted students.

Her Creation Quirk lets her create nonliving objects from her body as long as she understands their molecular structure. The ability is extraordinarily versatile but requires extensive knowledge, careful planning, and sufficient body lipids.

Momo can create weapons, defensive equipment, tracking devices, tools, and specialized items suited to specific situations.

Her intelligence makes her a natural strategist, although self-doubt sometimes interferes with her decision-making. Learning to trust her judgment is an important part of her development.

9. Fumikage Tokoyami

Fumikage Tokoyami possesses Dark Shadow, a sentient shadow-like entity that emerges from his body and fights alongside him.

Dark Shadow’s strength is influenced by surrounding light. Darkness can make it significantly stronger but also more difficult for Tokoyami to control, while bright light reduces its power.

Tokoyami’s serious personality and dramatic vocabulary complement his dark, birdlike appearance. Despite this intimidating presentation, he is a disciplined student who values teamwork.

Training with Hawks helps him explore new ways to use Dark Shadow for mobility as well as combat.

10. Denki Kaminari

Denki Kaminari’s Electrification Quirk allows him to discharge electricity from his body.

His electrical output can incapacitate multiple enemies and support specialized equipment, but excessive use can temporarily impair his ability to think clearly.

Kaminari is sociable, energetic, and more relaxed than many of his classmates. He frequently provides comic relief, yet he can become dependable when his friends face genuine danger.

Training and support equipment help him improve the precision of an ability that initially risks affecting allies as well as opponents.

11. Kyoka Jiro

Kyoka Jiro has the Earphone Jack Quirk. Long earphone-like jacks extending from her earlobes can plug into surfaces or equipment, allowing her to detect vibrations and channel powerful sound-based attacks.

Her abilities are particularly useful for reconnaissance because she can listen for movement through walls and other surfaces.

Jiro has a dry sense of humor and a strong interest in music. Although initially shy about showing her musical talent, that part of her identity eventually becomes important to her classmates as well.

12. Mina Ashido

Mina Ashido is an energetic Class 1-A student whose Acid Quirk allows her to produce corrosive liquid and adjust properties such as its strength and viscosity.

She can use acid offensively, create slippery surfaces for movement, and employ it defensively when necessary.

Mina’s pink skin, dark sclera, and horn-like features give her one of the most distinctive appearances in the class. Socially confident and expressive, she often helps bring classmates together.

Behind her upbeat personality is a character who also has to confront fear and learn how courage functions in genuinely dangerous situations.

13. Hanta Sero

Hanta Sero can produce strong tape from dispenser-like organs in his elbows through his Tape Quirk.

The ability resembles a specialized grappling system. Sero can bind opponents, swing between structures, rescue people, create traps, and rapidly reposition himself.

His friendly, easygoing personality helps him fit naturally into many Class 1-A teams. Although his Quirk is less destructive than those of some classmates, its mobility and utility make Sero particularly adaptable.

14. Mashirao Ojiro

Mashirao Ojiro’s Tail Quirk gives him a powerful muscular tail that functions as both a weapon and an additional limb.

Ojiro combines his Quirk with martial arts, making him a technically disciplined close-range fighter. His tail can strike opponents, support movement, and help him maintain balance.

He is modest, principled, and relatively straightforward compared with some of Class 1-A’s more eccentric personalities. Ojiro’s concern with fairness is one of his most recognizable character traits.

15. Mezo Shoji

Mezo Shoji has the Dupli-Arms Quirk, giving him multiple webbed arms whose ends can replicate sensory organs such as eyes, ears, and mouths.

This makes him extremely useful for reconnaissance and rescue work. His large body and physical strength also allow him to protect others directly.

Shoji wears a mask over the lower portion of his face and has a reserved, selfless personality. His experiences also connect him to the prejudice faced by people with visibly heteromorphic Quirks.

16. Toru Hagakure

Toru Hagakure is permanently invisible due to her Invisibility Quirk.

While invisibility naturally helps with stealth and reconnaissance, Hagakure learns to use the way light interacts with her body for additional techniques.

Her energetic and friendly personality contrasts with the fact that readers and other characters cannot normally see her facial expressions or physical appearance clearly.

She frequently participates in social moments within Class 1-A and remains one of the class’s more unconventional students.

17. Koji Koda

Koji Koda possesses Anivoice, allowing him to communicate with and direct animals.

His quiet nature initially makes speaking assertively difficult, which creates an interesting challenge for a Quirk dependent on communication.

Koda is gentle and compassionate, with a strong connection to animals. In situations where animals are available, his ability can support reconnaissance, distraction, communication, and large-scale coordinated action.

18. Rikido Sato

Rikido Sato’s Sugar Rush Quirk dramatically increases his physical strength after consuming sugar.

The increased power comes with a drawback, as heavy Quirk use reduces his cognitive performance for a period of time.

Outside combat, Sato is known for baking, and his cooking helps him socialize with his classmates. His straightforward strength makes him particularly suited to close-range physical encounters and situations requiring heavy lifting.

19. Yuga Aoyama

Yuga Aoyama fires a powerful beam from his abdomen using the Navel Laser Quirk.

The laser provides excellent ranged offensive capability, but extended use causes physical discomfort. Aoyama therefore wears specialized equipment that helps him control his Quirk.

His sparkling costume and theatrical behavior make him appear extremely confident. Beneath that presentation, however, Aoyama carries personal insecurities that become increasingly significant to his role in the story.

20. Minoru Mineta

Minoru Mineta possesses Pop Off, which lets him remove sticky spherical objects from his head.

The spheres adhere strongly to most surfaces but bounce off Mineta himself. He can use them to immobilize enemies, create obstacles, climb, or move rapidly through an area.

Mineta is intelligent and capable of clever tactical thinking when necessary, although his inappropriate behavior toward female characters is a recurring negative aspect of his characterization.

U.A. Teachers And Staff

21. All Might

Toshinori Yagi, better known as All Might, is the former Symbol of Peace and Midoriya’s most important mentor.

As the previous holder of One For All, All Might possessed extraordinary strength, speed, durability, and mobility. At his peak, his presence alone acted as a powerful deterrent against criminal activity.

A serious injury limits how long he can maintain his muscular hero form, creating a dramatic contrast between the public image of All Might and his weakened natural appearance.

His selection of Midoriya as his successor drives the central story. All Might must eventually learn that mentoring a future hero requires different skills from personally defeating every threat.

22. Shota Aizawa

Shota Aizawa, the Pro Hero Eraser Head, is Class 1-A’s homeroom teacher.

His Erasure Quirk temporarily disables another person’s Quirk while he maintains visual contact with the target. It does not affect every type of physical mutation in the same way, so Aizawa combines the ability with extensive combat training and a specialized binding weapon.

He appears tired, blunt, and unsentimental, but his demanding teaching style is motivated by a strong desire to keep his students alive.

Aizawa’s tactical intelligence allows him to challenge opponents who possess far more destructive raw power.

23. Present Mic

Hizashi Yamada, known professionally as Present Mic, is a Pro Hero and U.A. teacher.

His Voice Quirk enormously amplifies his vocal output, producing sound powerful enough to affect opponents across considerable distances.

Present Mic’s loud, radio-host-inspired personality makes him the energetic opposite of Aizawa, despite the two being longtime friends.

He teaches English at U.A. and also serves as an announcer during major school events.

24. Nezu

Nezu is the principal of U.A. High School and an unusual example of an animal possessing a Quirk.

His High Spec Quirk grants extraordinary intelligence, allowing him to analyze situations and construct complicated strategies far beyond normal human capability.

Despite his small appearance and generally polite behavior, Nezu can be intimidating when demonstrating his strategic abilities.

As principal, he is responsible for protecting U.A. students while adapting the school to increasingly serious threats.

25. Recovery Girl

Chiyo Shuzenji, better known as Recovery Girl, works as U.A.’s school nurse.

Her Heal Quirk accelerates a person’s natural healing process through a kiss, but the process consumes the patient’s own stamina. It therefore cannot simply erase every injury without consequences.

Recovery Girl plays an especially important role during Midoriya’s early training, when his poor control over One For All repeatedly damages his body.

Her presence also reinforces a major lesson for U.A. students: relying on medical treatment does not make reckless self-injury acceptable.

Pro Hero Characters

26. Endeavor

Enji Todoroki, the Pro Hero Endeavor, is Shoto Todoroki’s father and one of the most powerful heroes in Japan.

His Hellflame Quirk lets him generate and control intense fire. Endeavor uses it for devastating attacks, high-speed movement, and highly concentrated heat techniques.

His relentless ambition to surpass All Might shapes his professional career and causes severe damage within his family. As a result, his story is not simply about becoming stronger; it also examines whether someone who has seriously harmed others can meaningfully confront the consequences of his actions.

Endeavor’s complicated relationships with Shoto and the rest of the Todoroki family are central to his character.

27. Hawks

Keigo Takami, known as Hawks, possesses the Fierce Wings Quirk.

His large red wings consist of individually controllable feathers. Hawks can fly at high speed, manipulate feathers remotely, carry people, detect disturbances through vibrations, and use individual feathers with remarkable precision.

His casual attitude hides exceptional intelligence and situational awareness. Hawks often works in circumstances where gathering information is as important as winning a direct battle.

His role demonstrates the complicated relationship between public heroism, government institutions, personal freedom, and covert operations.

28. Best Jeanist

Tsunagu Hakamada, the Pro Hero Best Jeanist, uses the Fiber Master Quirk.

He can manipulate fibers in clothing and other materials, restraining opponents or controlling numerous threads simultaneously. Denim is particularly easy for him to manipulate.

Best Jeanist places great importance on discipline, presentation, and social responsibility. His mentorship of Bakugo creates an amusing contrast because Bakugo initially has little interest in the polished public image Jeanist expects from professional heroes.

Behind the fashion theme is an extremely capable and experienced combatant.

29. Mirko

Rumi Usagiyama, known as Mirko, is a powerful Pro Hero with the Rabbit Quirk.

The ability gives her rabbit-like characteristics, including exceptionally strong legs, heightened physical abilities, powerful hearing, and tremendous jumping capability.

Mirko specializes in aggressive close-range combat and displays extraordinary determination even when severely injured.

Her independent personality and willingness to confront danger directly make her stand out among Japan’s professional heroes.

30. Fat Gum

Taishiro Toyomitsu, better known as Fat Gum, possesses the Fat Absorption Quirk.

His body can absorb and contain the force of incoming attacks. Under particular circumstances, he can convert stored energy into offensive power, although doing so consumes much of his protective fat.

Fat Gum is friendly and approachable outside combat but becomes highly serious when protecting others.

His mentorship of Kirishima and Tamaki Amajiki highlights his ability to recognize different forms of courage in younger heroes.

The Big Three

31. Mirio Togata

Mirio Togata is one of U.A.’s Big Three, a trio regarded among the school’s most accomplished students.

His Permeation Quirk allows his body to pass through solid matter. Although the ability sounds overwhelmingly powerful, controlling it is extremely difficult because activating it can also cause him to fall through surfaces and prevents ordinary physical interactions.

Mirio transforms those disadvantages into strengths through extensive training, prediction, timing, and physical conditioning.

His cheerful personality and desire to save people make him an important example of heroism for younger students, particularly Midoriya.

32. Tamaki Amajiki

Tamaki Amajiki, also known as Suneater, is another member of U.A.’s Big Three.

His Manifest Quirk allows him to manifest physical characteristics of things he has eaten. Consuming different foods gives him access to traits such as tentacles, shells, claws, wings, and other biological features.

This makes Tamaki extraordinarily versatile, especially when he prepares his diet strategically.

Despite his strength, he suffers from severe social anxiety and frequently doubts himself. His friendship with Mirio and mentorship under Fat Gum help reveal the contrast between his insecurity and his exceptional ability.

33. Nejire Hado

Nejire Hado completes U.A.’s Big Three.

Her Wave Motion Quirk converts her vitality into spiral-shaped energy waves. She can use these waves offensively and to propel herself through the air.

Nejire is naturally curious, energetic, and talkative. She often asks people direct questions about their appearance or abilities without intending to offend them.

Her mobility and energy projection make her an effective combat and rescue hero with strong long-range capabilities.

MHA Villains

34. Tomura Shigaraki

Tomura Shigaraki becomes one of the central antagonists of My Hero Academia and the primary leader associated with the League of Villains.

His Decay Quirk allows him to destroy what he touches under the conditions of his ability. As his power develops, its destructive potential becomes increasingly dangerous.

Shigaraki initially appears immature, unstable, and easily frustrated, but his role expands dramatically as his history and connection to hero society are revealed.

His conflict with Midoriya is more than a conventional hero-versus-villain rivalry. Both characters become connected to legacies extending across generations, making their confrontation central to the larger struggle surrounding One For All and All For One.

35. All For One

All For One is one of the most influential villains in the history of the series.

His Quirk, also called All For One, allows him to steal Quirks from other people, use those abilities himself, and transfer Quirks to others. By accumulating numerous abilities, he becomes an extraordinarily dangerous opponent.

He is closely tied to the origin and history of One For All and serves as All Might’s greatest enemy.

READ MORE:  54 Marvel Rivals Characters: Heroes, Roles & Abilities

Unlike villains driven primarily by spontaneous anger, All For One frequently operates through manipulation, long-term planning, and control over other people. His influence extends far beyond individual battles.

36. Dabi

Dabi is a prominent member of the League of Villains recognizable by his dark clothing, scarred skin, staples, and powerful blue flames.

His Quirk is Blueflame, which produces extremely intense fire. The destructive strength of his flames comes with a serious physical drawback because his body does not tolerate their heat well.

Dabi is cynical, calculating, and often emotionally detached in his interactions with other villains.

His personal history becomes deeply connected to the Todoroki family storyline, turning his conflict with the heroes into something far more personal than ordinary villain activity.

37. Himiko Toga

Himiko Toga is a major League of Villains member whose cheerful demeanor contrasts sharply with her dangerous behavior.

Her Transform Quirk allows her to assume another person’s appearance after consuming their blood. The amount consumed affects how long she can maintain the transformation, and the capabilities of her Quirk develop during the story.

Toga’s fascination with blood, love, identity, and becoming the people she admires forms the psychological core of her character.

Her interactions with Ochaco Uraraka become particularly significant because both characters explore feelings of affection and emotional suppression in radically different ways.

38. Twice

Jin Bubaigawara, known as Twice, possesses the Double Quirk.

He can create duplicates of people or objects when he has sufficiently accurate measurements and information. His ability has enormous strategic potential because duplication can rapidly increase the number of individuals on a battlefield.

Twice’s personality is shaped by severe psychological trauma connected to his own duplicates, resulting in contradictory speech and deep uncertainty about his identity.

Despite being a villain, he forms genuine emotional attachments to his companions. His loyalty to the League makes him one of the group’s most humanized members.

39. Spinner

Shuichi Iguchi, known as Spinner, is a League of Villains member with a reptilian appearance.

His original Quirk, Gecko, gives him gecko-like abilities such as clinging to walls.

Spinner initially becomes involved with the League because of his admiration for Stain’s ideology rather than simple loyalty to Shigaraki. Over time, however, his relationships within the group change his motivations.

His heteromorphic appearance also connects his story to discrimination against people whose Quirks significantly alter their physical form.

40. Stain

Chizome Akaguro, better known as the Hero Killer: Stain, is an independent villain whose actions have an enormous ideological impact on the story.

His Bloodcurdle Quirk allows him to temporarily paralyze someone after ingesting their blood. The duration varies according to the target’s blood type.

Stain believes many professional heroes are motivated by fame, money, and status rather than genuine self-sacrifice. He considers All Might one of the few heroes worthy of admiration and violently targets people he believes do not meet his standard.

Although the series does not endorse his murders, his criticism of hero society influences other villains and contributes to growing distrust in established institutions.

Major MHA Character Groups Explained

The large number of MHA characters becomes easier to understand when they are organized according to their roles and affiliations.

Class 1-A

Class 1-A is the central hero course class at U.A. High School. It contains 20 students, including Midoriya, Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka, Ida, and their classmates.

The students have very different Quirks, which is important to the series’ approach to teamwork. Some specialize in raw power, while others excel at mobility, reconnaissance, rescue, defense, crowd control, or strategy.

U.A. High School

U.A. is one of Japan’s leading institutions for aspiring heroes. Its staff includes experienced Pro Heroes such as Aizawa and Present Mic alongside specialized personnel such as Recovery Girl.

Principal Nezu oversees the institution and its increasingly sophisticated security measures.

The Big Three

Mirio Togata, Tamaki Amajiki, and Nejire Hado are known collectively as U.A.’s Big Three.

Their reputation comes from their advanced abilities and experience rather than simply possessing inherently superior Quirks. Mirio in particular demonstrates how extensive training can transform a difficult Quirk into an exceptionally effective ability.

Pro Heroes

Professional heroes are licensed individuals who use their Quirks and training to rescue civilians, respond to disasters, and confront villains.

Characters such as All Might, Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, Mirko, and Fat Gum demonstrate different approaches to professional hero work.

The series also examines the public expectations, rankings, celebrity culture, institutional pressures, and personal responsibilities surrounding the profession.

League Of Villains

The League of Villains begins as a relatively small organization centered around Tomura Shigaraki.

Important members include Dabi, Himiko Toga, Twice, and Spinner. Rather than giving every member the same motivation, the story explores how alienation, personal trauma, ideology, discrimination, and dissatisfaction with society can push different individuals toward villainy.

Important MHA Character Relationships

Midoriya And Bakugo

Midoriya and Bakugo share one of the most complicated relationships in the series.

They grow up together, but Bakugo’s confidence and powerful Quirk create an unhealthy imbalance between them. Midoriya admires Bakugo’s determination to win, while Bakugo struggles with Midoriya’s instinct to help people regardless of personal risk.

Their rivalry gradually develops as both learn that complete heroism requires the desire to save and the determination to win.

Midoriya And All Might

All Might is Midoriya’s mentor and the person who gives him One For All.

Their relationship initially resembles that of an idol and admirer, but it becomes much more personal. All Might has to teach Midoriya how to carry an enormous inherited responsibility, while Midoriya forces All Might to adapt to life as a mentor rather than an unbeatable Symbol of Peace.

Shoto And Endeavor

Shoto’s relationship with Endeavor is shaped by his father’s obsessive ambition and its damaging consequences for the Todoroki family.

Shoto’s development involves learning that accepting his own fire does not mean accepting or excusing his father’s behavior.

The Todoroki storyline therefore treats family reconciliation, responsibility, resentment, and accountability as separate and complicated issues.

Uraraka And Midoriya

Uraraka and Midoriya develop a close relationship based on mutual respect and encouragement.

Midoriya inspires Uraraka in several ways, while she repeatedly supports him emotionally and practically. Uraraka also recognizes romantic feelings toward him, though her character arc extends beyond romance and increasingly focuses on her own understanding of who deserves help.

Shigaraki And All For One

All For One positions himself as Shigaraki’s mentor, but their relationship is fundamentally connected to power and manipulation.

Understanding this relationship is essential to understanding Shigaraki’s development and the broader generational conflict at the heart of My Hero Academia.

How Quirks Work In My Hero Academia

A Quirk is the term used for the superhuman abilities possessed by much of the My Hero Academia population.

Quirks vary enormously. Bakugo generates explosions, Uraraka manipulates gravity’s effect on touched objects, Aizawa suppresses other people’s Quirks, and Shoji possesses permanent physical adaptations.

Having a powerful Quirk does not automatically make someone a great hero. Characters must learn its limitations, physical costs, effective applications, and interactions with other abilities.

This is why training plays such an important role throughout the series. Students repeatedly discover that understanding an ability can matter as much as increasing its raw strength.

Who Is The Main Character In MHA?

Izuku Midoriya is the main character of My Hero Academia.

His journey from a Quirkless child who admires heroes to the inheritor of One For All forms the central narrative of the series.

Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka, All Might, Shigaraki, and other major characters receive substantial development, but Midoriya remains the primary protagonist around whom the main story is structured.

Who Are The Main Villains In MHA?

Tomura Shigaraki and All For One are the most important overarching antagonistic figures.

Shigaraki becomes the central villain of Midoriya’s generation, while All For One represents an older conflict closely connected to both All Might and One For All.

Dabi, Himiko Toga, Twice, Spinner, and numerous other villains contribute different motivations and perspectives to the broader conflict.

Stain is particularly important despite not functioning as a conventional League member because his ideology influences several later villains.

Conclusion

The large cast of MHA characters is one of the main reasons My Hero Academia can explore heroism from so many perspectives. Izuku Midoriya represents the desire to save people even at personal cost, Bakugo approaches heroism through victory and ambition, Todoroki struggles to define himself independently of his family, and Uraraka increasingly considers the emotional needs of the people doing the rescuing.

The professional heroes expand the picture by showing what hero work looks like after graduation, while Shigaraki, All For One, Toga, Dabi, Twice, and other villains expose conflicts and failures within the society built around Quirks.

Understanding the cast by their relationships, affiliations, Quirks, and motivations makes the wider story considerably easier to follow. Rather than functioning as isolated heroes and villains, these characters form an interconnected system of students, mentors, families, rivals, successors, and enemies whose choices continually shape one another.
